THE COLLABORATIVE LEARNING SYSTEMS USED AS DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEMS

    Get PDF
This paper reviews a case study in the use of COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS in project appraisal which serves to illustrate different aspects of the practical problem (using the CBA/PC package) and the Management Game “MANAGER” that simulate all functions for three to nine companies that find in competition. The COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS case study and The “MANAGER” game illustrate how case study and management games , that simulate competition between companies, can make an useful Collaborative Learning System and can be use into Master Courses.Case Study, Management Games, Collaborative Learning Systems

THE ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE (E-SIGN) IN THE INFORMATION SOCIETY

    Get PDF
This paper deals with the legislative and technical aspects, concerning the electronic signature and examples regarding the implementation of the e-sign software security solutions in the information society. One of the major problems the IT developers for complex systems have to deal with, is to provide the security of data and the information administered by these systems, as well as to certify their authentication by the electronic signature. The certification procedures and the encryption algorithms, used for the electronic signature are needed in today’s information society.e-sign, software security, information security, Decision Support System(DSS)

The economic impact of the digital revolution is highly important. Without www, globalization and outsourcing would have not been possible. The impact of the IT technological boom, especially on the higher education process is highly important. The facilities offered by the IT technological environments allow major changes both at the level of the teaching materials’ design and the projection of the learning environment, by using new systems and collaborative-participative technologies, student-oriented with distributed resources and a real fluidity of the roles in the learning process. Nowadays, small and middle – sized enterprises use the same collaborative systems (or their components) known by abbreviations such as ERP, CRM, SCM, HRS, etc. in order to provide data and information to the decision-making bodies at all levels, in due time. One of the problems in using collaborative systems has been the complexity of large-scale systems and, therefore, the main topics of this paper are: basic components, development of collaborative systems, benefits, costs, replacing/ re-implementing, e-Business, structuring the manufacturing Database, achievement of these systems successfully etc, and integration of these systems into the academic curriculum.Collaborative Systems, e-Learning, m-Learning, i-Click Technologies, Globalization, e- Business, Information Society

THE DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEMS FOR THE INFORMATION SOCIETY (i-Society)

The globalization process needs exact information flows that should be collected in due time. The Information Society ensures the communication between people with different expertise from various geographical areas that have similar interests. The increase of the companies’ activities leads implicitly to the increase of the volume and the complexities of databases, as well as the continuous modernization of the integrated information systems in order to collect the information in due time, that is requested by the decision takers and the frequent use of DSS. The paper presents the DSS structure, the main facilities offered by the associated software products, an evolution of the databases technologies, as well as a list of the program products used to process the statistical data and data mining in order to obtain the main sources of information that is necessary to take decisions.Information Society (i-Society); Data Base; Information Systems; Decision Support Systems (DSS); Statistical Package, Portal technology
